An internationally recognised process professional, Imre Hegedus is passionate about improving business performance. Imre has assisted some of Australasia’s largest companies in their process endeavours, has led the development of a number of Australian and international quality/process forums and is the founder and convenor of BPM Link – Australia’s largest network of process and change management professionals.

Fifteen years corporate experience as a BPM practitioner and senior executive has seen Imre successfully influence at the most senior organisational levels on the case for BPM. This saw Imre establish and lead the BPM Centre of Excellence and the Six Sigma deployment for one of Australia’s largest corporations.

Imre chairs the Business Process Management Forum – an annual conference held in Melbourne attracting local and international experts in the field. In 2008, Imre authored the Industry Report on "Business Process Management – Insights and Practices for Sustained Transformation".

Dr Jane Kovacs Dr Jane Kovacs

Jane is a graduate Scientist holding Masters Degrees in both Engineering (Quality Management) and Business, and a Doctorate in Business Administration.

She has spent much of her working life in hospitals and Local Government organisations in various operational and leadership roles. Her experience has been gained in a wide range of disciplines including; environmental health and education services, personnel, human resources, facilitation and training, strategic planning, and project management.

It was during her time in Local Government that Jane was first introduced to the Principles and practices of quality improvement, and directly experienced the many benefits it brings as the quality of work life and client and stakeholder satisfaction improve.

Jane’s focus on Quality improvement began in earnest when she was appointed to the position of Project Director for Business Excellence Australia (previously the Australian Quality Council) in 1999.

Jane joined Quality Learning Australia (QLA) in 2003 to focus on school improvement. She lives in beautiful Melbourne and is devoted to supporting those who share her passion to improve our school education system so all children experience joy and success in learning.

Michael N King

It was while working for Telstra that Michael developed a passion for the principles and practices of continuous quality improvement. Michael was personally responsible for the development of the Telstra ‘Guide to Process Re-engineering’. He also played a key role in the development and implementation of measurement systems for the core business processes and was also an evaluator for the internal Telstra Quality Management awards during this period.

Michael left Telstra to join the Australian Quality Council (AQC) in early 1995 as a project director. His clients included government departments and agencies, large corporations and small enterprises.

In 1996, Michael was instrumental in establishing and responsible for leading the Australian Quality Council Quality in Schools initiative. Initially a joint initiative of the Victorian Department of Education and the AQC, it was later adopted by the South Australian Department of Education and Children’s Services. The program was to involve over 350 schools and preschools in the years 1998 to 2002.

In 2002 Michael relocated to Canberra and established Quality Learning Australia (QLA). QLA works almost exclusively in the schools sector, serving over three hundred schools in Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. QLA designs and delivers professional development interventions for school leaders and teachers leading to demonstrable and sustainable improvements in school performance and the quality of school life. QLA’s clients continue to be recognised for their sustained improvement efforts in the Australian Government National Awards for Quality Schooling.
